This song ended up being the epic of the writing sessions. Because of that we knew that it would have to be very strong in every regard to make it on the album (Chiaroscuro). It turned out really well..but in the end it was decided that it would sit better on the EP.
Lyrically it is about a huge wind storm that struck southern Ontario a few years back..it only lasted a few minutes...but the damage it caused in several neighborhoods was shocking. It is a true story as it happened to Mark and his neighborhood. Is this another example of global warming? After all...there has never been an incident like this here in Ontario (Canada) before.

Down empty streets and alleyways

To get inside before its too late
The sky goes dark
The hail it drops from blackened clouds
The lightening strikes
And sets the trees a blaze with fire

Broken homes and broken dreams

How does one find the strength to build their lives again?

The sirens sound
The ambulance race up and down the streets
An angry mob, of people wondering how this came to be
There was no sign
No warning to prepare for all of this
We all survived..we could have suffered much more loss then this

How does one find the strength to build their lives again?

These violent storms will be the least of our concerns.

The wind it blows
Down busy streets and corridors
No angry mobs..just people searching for a remedy

Lets hope they wont return and strike again
We know the price..we'll pay if we don't try and find a way
