about

This song is opening track of the album. Musically its a great representation of what The Dark Monarchy are about...hard hitting drums..melodic bass and vocals..well thought out orchestration and heavy guitars.
Lyrically the song is about guns....gun crimes in particular which has been increasing in number not only in America but in Canada as well.

lyrics

Another day begins, another tragedy upon our streets.

A man is left for dead, nobody has a thing to say.

We've heard this all before, it's just another settled score.

When will this madness end? We have to find a way.

But lunacy controls the minds of the blind,

That lunacy will preach a reason and rhyme.

Where's this redemption?
There's no teaching old dogs.

A eulogy designed from horror and fright,

A eulogy that should have never seen light,

There's no direction,
There's no teaching old dogs.

Another school day ends, time to be with family and friends.

But on this Wednesday night, we hear the sound of bullets fly.

It's time to make a stand, take these issues in our hands.

Before it is too late, and we dig another grave.

But lunacy controls the minds of the blind,

That lunacy will preach a reason and rhyme.

Where's this redemption?
There's no teaching old dogs.

A eulogy designed from horror and fright,

A eulogy that should have never seen light,

There's no direction,
There's no teaching old dogs.

They're digging graves for precious freedom,

We cannot save what won't be saved.

We cannot save what won't be saved.
They are slaves to so-called freedom,

The doltish brain is easily swayed.

The doltish brain is easily swayed.

Broken yet flawless, open yet closed.

Risen yet fallen, naked yet clothed.

Heavy yet weightless, steady yet weak.

Able yet brainless, stubborn yet meek.
Open your eyes and open your hearts.

Your weapon of choice is tearing us apart.

Swallow your egos, swallow your pride.

Heal the future, quit this joyride.

Will the story change?
Will we have the strength to find a way,

To leave this all behind, and have some hope in futurekind?

The power's in our hands, to raise our voice and make a stand.

What does the future hold? Will our young ever grow old?

Open your eyes and open your hearts.

Your weapon of choice is tearing us apart.

Swallow your egos, swallow your pride.

Heal the future, quit this joyride.

about

The Dark Monarchy Brampton, Ontario

The Dark Monarchy consists of Mark Anthony K (Projekt Gemineye) and Joe Bailey (Joe Bailey). After contributing some vocals to the latest Projekt Gemineye album, Mark and Joe decided to work on some songs together. The results were so good they decided that it would be a shame not to form a band and release them. With that said...so begins The Dark Monarchy. ... more
