Fragile
07:50
|
|||
A budding life erased and stopped at the drop of a hat.
No word of warning, no return for the man on his back.
Time separates me from the grief as it marches by.
You’re creeping into my dreams and I don’t know why.
And life is cruel again, inflicting endless pain.
I wake to feel the sorrow, I wait until tomorrow,
My brain is mapping out my days.
A world of desolation, a dash of exultation,
My pain is paving my walkway.
You’re swimming through my sleep and shaking both of my hands.
Delivering messages that I will never understand.
Sometimes you write for me and sometimes you’re rewriting the past.
Time separates me from the grief and it’s travelling fast.
And life is cruel again, inflicting endless pain.
Your mind will wait until you’re on your own.
Waiting to cast the final stone.
Your mind will tear strips from your brain.
Waiting to break your spirit again.

King Of The Land
08:57
|
|||
Wasting away to where only sorrow knows, and sorrow thrives.
Fasten these chains for loneliness and a hundred million lives.
There’s a voice inside your head and it’s begging for your blood,
And it squeezes every ounce into a sea of tears and mud.
And you tussle and you struggle but you never win the fight,
There’s a hole behind your ribs and it’s yearning for the light.
Count the fingers on my hand,
And remember you’re the King of your brand.
There’s a frost inside your heart and it freezes to your toes.
And your bed is your relief when you persuade your eyes to close.
And you huddle in the rubble as you perforate your brain,
There's a madman in the mirror and he's calling you insane.
Count the fingers on my hand,
And remember you’re the King of your brand.
Count the smiles you painted from scratch.
And remember you’re the King of the land.
Standing in line with everyone,
The hands of time can turn both ways.
So stand in line with your broken peers,
And blind your eyes and burst your ears.
Standing in line with everyone,
The hands of time can turn both ways.
Thousands of minds thrown to the wolves,
To fight and ride the end of days.
The real Kings and Queens of our land,
Are squashed like bugs.
The harlequin benches buckle with the weight.
Those wretched clowns in command
Slither like slugs.
The harlequin benches buckle with the hate.
Open wide, spew your lies.
Here I lie, dying inside.

The Travelers Tale

How many times have you asked yourself
What should i do today?
As the minutes slip and slip away
There is no time to waste
There is a dream that's burning in your mind
Its eating at your soul
Now is the time to put your doubts aside
And go explore the world
What did you learn when you left home?
What did you learn, what did you see?
Living on the road the cities look the same
Nobody stops to see, the things that we have made
The buildings reaching for the skies
The highways built six car lanes wide
The beauty and the might
On journeys through the night
When will we stop to read, the message on the wall
The trumpet blast has rung, yet no one hears it call
We sit and watch as people gamble our lives
When will we stand, and take back our birthright
The corporate suits laugh at our misfortune
Send out the call...The People Have Awoken!
What did you learn when you left home?
What did you learn, what did you see?
Living on the road the cities look the same
Nobody stops to see, the things that we have made
The buildings reaching for the skies
The highways built six car lanes wide
The beauty and the might
On journeys through the night

The Guiding Light

Long ago, when magic ruled the land
Lived a man, who's powers made him loved by millions
He would walk, among the trees and by the rivers
Keeping watch...no evil spread among the people
The kingdoms lived in harmony
From the mountains to the seas
All the markets and the fairs
Hoping he would be there
Then one night, dark clouds began to form
Thunder roared and lightening hit the trees and bushes
A hooded man appeared among the smoke and fire
He raised his hands and rain began to fall before him.
The kingdoms lived in harmony
From the mountains to the seas
With this power he commands
The evil fled from his lands
He is the shining light
Look to the north and you will find him
He is the guiding light
And in the darkness you will see him
Through the forests and the desert sands
They battled through the day and night
Through the forests and the desert sands
The blood of evil staind the land
In the morning, the people gathered round
To praise his name before the Gods
Long ago, when magic ruled the land
Lived a man, who's powers made him loved by millions
He would walk, among the trees and by the rivers
Keeping watch, he'd always be there for his people
He is the shining light
Look to the north and you will find him
He is the guiding light
And in the darkness you will see him

One Way Out
07:50
|

Big wigs, commercial suits and the make believe.
Give them the time to tax the air we breathe.
Lives broken down beneath a sea of stars
We sell our houses just to fill our cars.
We offer broken hands,
To donate bargain cans.
A million mouths to feed,
Consume bureaucracy.
And we breed more and more whilst the planet is choking,
We are pawns in a game that we don’t want to play.
And we shield from the light whilst the planet is smoking,
A blind eye to the beast in the cold light of day.
Regenerating and filling with life,
Contaminating the world by design.
Accommodating with arms open wide,
Obliterating everything in sight.
And here’s the next one, and here’s the next one after.
And we try and fill our lives with sanctity,
But it’s overshadowed with the urgency.
And we need to fill our lives with symmetry,
But it’s overpowered by hostility.

The Dark Monarchy Brampton, Ontario
The Dark Monarchy consists of Mark Anthony K (Projekt Gemineye) and Joe Bailey (Joe Bailey). After contributing some vocals to the latest Projekt Gemineye album, Mark and Joe decided to work on some songs together. The results were so good they decided that it would be a shame not to form a band and release them. With that said...so begins The Dark Monarchy. ... more
